Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance provisions, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Antrim, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence, suitable for the vehicle category, must be held for the minimum period outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, you will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with valid payment information and a security deposit. Please ensure you meet any other requirements detailed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or at our Antrim office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally payable when you pick up your vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is necessary to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged appropriately. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. For comprehensive details and excess amounts, please refer to your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. It is beneficial to review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further insured. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. Activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading are prohibited. Transporting dangerous materials is also not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used for purposes it was not intended for, nor should it exceed passenger or weight limits. Driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Antrim is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
Governing Law Overview
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
Changes to Terms of Service
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
